RANJISH HI SAHEE

Mehdi Hassan Khan (Urdu: مہدی حسن خان ‎‎; July 18, 1927 – June 13, 2012) was a Pakistani ghazal singer and a former playback singer for Lollywood. He is famously known as the "King of Ghazal". In 1979, he was awarded K. L. Saigal Sangeet Shehenshah Award by the Government of India. Indian singer Lata Mangeshkar, who has been awarded Bharat Ratna, once compared his songs to the "voice of god". He was honored with Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, Pride of Performance and Hilal-e-Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan. In 1983, in the court of King Birendra he was awarded Gorkha Dakshina Bahu by the Government of Nepal.^{[citation needed]}He remained a leading singer of film industry along with Ahmed Rushdi. Mehdi Hassan died on 13 June 2012 after a protracted illness, in a private hospital in Karachi. The highest civilian honor of Pakistan is conferred on him Nishan-e-Imtiaz.

Ranjish hee sahee dil hee dukhaane ke liye aa
aa phir se mujhe chhod ke jaane ke liye aa

Pahale se maraasim na sahee phir bhee kabhee to
rasm-o-rahe duniyaa hee nibhaane ke liye aa

Kis kis ko bataayenge judayi kaa sabab ham
tuu mujh se khafaa hai to zamaane ke liye aa

Kuchh to mere pindaar-e-muhabbat ka bharam rakh
tuu bhee to kabhee mujh ko manaane ke liye aa

Ek umra se huun lazzat-e-giriyaa se bhee maharuum
ai raahat-e-jaan mujh ko rulaane ke liye aa

Ab tak dil-e-khush_faham ko hain tujh se ummiidein
ye aaKhirii sham-me bhee bujhaane ke liye aa

Maanaa ki muhabbat kaa chhipaanaa hai muhabbat
chupake se kisii roz jataane ke liye aa

Jaise tujhe aate hain na aane ke bahaane
aise hee kisii roz na jaane ke liye aa

Ranjish hi sahi dil hi dukhane ke liye aa
aa phir se mujhe chod ke jaane ke liye aa
